8 Spam Comments I Wish Were Real

akismet_spamFor a pay-what-you-can price, Akismet spam-filtering software from Automattic corrals spam into a separate folder where it never sees the light of day here on the Bay State Reader’s Advisory blog. Akismet is pretty much 100% accurate, and I love it, but some of the spammers’ comments are so flattering that I trash them only reluctantly.

Here are a fawning few:

Awesome article. Really looking forward to read more. Much obliged.
Short, to the point, and clearly sincere.

Enjoyed every bit of your blog article. Really looking forward to read more. Awesome.
A lovely compliment spoiled only by a link to buy a weight-loss drug.

I think this is a real great article post. Really looking forward to read more. Want more.
Just a slight variation on the previous, but
I like the passion of this one, especially the almost desperate note it takes on at the end.

Thanks-a-mundo for the article. Really thank you! Keep writing.
Awwww. That’s so sweet! Except for the link to get me to try that same weight-loss drug.

Excellent site you’ve got here.. It’s difficult to find high quality writing like yours nowadays. I really appreciate people like you! Take care!!
Nice!!

I don’t even know the way I ended up here, but I thought this post was good. I don’t know who you might be but definitely you are going to be a well-known blogger if you aren’t already. Cheers!
It’s taking long enough. Cheers!

Thanks for the article post.Really thank you! Really Great.
I like how this one starts out low-key and reasonable, and then pumps up the enthusiasm.

This is a really good read for me, Must admit that you are one of the best bloggers I ever saw. Thanks for posting this informative article.
You’re welcome! Thanks for reading, even if you’re only a spambot.

  1. Hahaha! I was cracking up as I read this. You have such great fans! One of my favorite spam comments said, “Is it only me or do a few of the comments
come across like left by brain dead people?” Even the spambots these days are trolls! (He/she/it finished by asking me to “list every one of your community sites like your linkedin profile, Facebook page or twittyer feed,” apparently with the hope that I too turn out to be one of those brain dead people.

  2. The Spam comments can get quite hilarious at times! I saved out a few “choice” ones myself this month that I plan to post on my Shelf Reflections this Saturday. Some of them are so butter-me-up and then you see their link to viagra.. LOL

Would love to have you comment!
