It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?: Boundless by Brad Cotton

It's Monday, What Are You Reading badge

This post is linked to Book Journey, where every Monday you can check out what other bloggers are reading.

A while ago, I read and reviewed A Work In Progress, a first novel by author Brad Cotton. Now his new book is out. Boundlessa contemporary novel about leaving everything behind and starting life anew. I bought a copy to read with my phone’s Kindle app. I haven’t tried to read a whole novel on the phone yet, so we’ll see how that goes!

Here’s the description from the back cover of Boundless:

Cover image of book Boundless by Brad CottonBest friends Duncan and Ray run a successful bookie business in Phoenix. Outgrowing the life they began in college, the late twenty-something pair set out on the road with a plan to never return. Their trip takes them cross-country with eventful stops in Las Vegas, Omaha, and Niagara Falls. Along their journey they meet several colorful characters and even agree to bring a pretty young girl named Ruby along with them for the ride. Landing in Boston to run an errand for an old friend, the travelers begin to lay roots in an attempt to forge for themselves the life they’d always hoped for. Easier said than done. As romances begin to burgeon, and one of their lives is put in danger, the group quickly discovers that where they are may indeed have little effect on who they are.

Find Brad Cotton at bradcotton.com, on Facebook, or on Twitter, @bradcott0n. Find Boundless for Kindle or in print on Amazon here.

Is anyone else a sucker for road trip novels? (Road trip novels that are not On the Road by Jack Kerouac, which I never did make it through)?

One of the related posts that popped up reminded me of one of my favorite “roadtrip novels”: The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving. Even though I was a sobby mess when I finished, it’s still such a fantastic, unexpected book. Hope you have a great week of reading!

I’m trying to think of a road trip book that I’ve read but my mind is BLANK, lol. I did read RFoC and it was wonderful!

Happy reading Laurie, have a great week.

I have to admit… sadly, I didn’t make it to the end of On The Road either.

Yes, I love road trip novels, too! I have read novels on my phone, but I tend to read them only when I’m out and about. So, sometimes there are quite long breaks between reading sessions which means I don’t always get the most out of a book. But the experience as such is fine.

I do like road trip novels, so I’d probably read this, and I do like it when there’s a lot more to the story, as this one sounds.
