  1. I am in desperate need for a book to read, and this sounds like it is just up my alley! Holding thumbs… Have you read the Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake? It is one of my all time faves:-)

  2. Thanks for the great giveaway offer. I’ve read and thoroughly enjoyed THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES by Sue Monk Kidd. This one is on my TBR list, can’t wait to read it.

  3. I am such a moody reader and love all things Asian and manga and comics and, obviously books, I am a translator of books, I love my job, what else? hehehe

Thanks so much for the giveaway and the chance to win xD

  4. What a co incidence I was just looking for this title an hour go and put it on my wish- list. I’am currently readog The book of Fate by Parinoush Saniee Interesting and horrifying at the same time

  5. I have been really interested in reading a Sue Monk Kidd book for a while but haven’t had the opportunity! Thanks for the chance. Let’s see, a quirk about me is that I always accidentally leave a tiny tear at the bottom of at least one page of whatever book I’m reading. It’s just the way I hold the book and totally accidental! 🙂

  6. Thanks for the giveaway! I’ve been wanting to read this since I first saw it advertised on Goodreads! Great choice 🙂

  7. Thanks for the chance to win this book! My quirk is it takes me longer to read a paper book than a kindle book these days. I have to read with the lights off and in bed. Just me and the words alit on the page. I am too easily distracted if I read during the daylight and from a paper book. I am too spoiled by my Kindle!

Yet, I love the feel and smell of paper books and I cannot help myself in checking out books from the library. It may take me forever to read them but just their presence on my nightstand brings me joy and peace.

  8. I haven’t had the chance to read Sue Monk Kidd before but have seen great reviews of this book and heard her name on other book blogs, so would definitely love the opportunity to get to read and new (to me) author.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  9. Thanks for the chance! I love blog hops and I love scary and horror books but I also enjoy other genres. I like book recommendations too! 😉

  10. Thanks for the giveaway! I haven’t read anything by Sue Monk Kidd yet, but want to! I’ve heard great things about her other books as well.
So much to read, so little time!!

  11. I guess one of my most dominant quirks is that I am unable to read one book at a time – I always have to have at least a few in process. Sometimes it’s annoying, but that’s the kind of reader I am 🙂

Thanks for the giveaway, I would like to try something by Sue Monk Kidd.

  12. oh – I love Sue Monk Kidd. Like so many others, I was introduced to her work with The Secret Life of Bees (one of my all-time favorites). Also loved The Mermaid Chair, and am even MORE excited that she has branched out into historical fiction! Thanks for the giveaway opportunity. I LOVE literary fiction!

  13. I read The Secret Life of Bees and The Mermaid Chair and loved both of them so can’t wait to read this book too! I like books that are thought provoking and this sounds perfect! Thanks for this amazing giveaway – I would love to win!

  14. My favourite novel is Dreams of Joy by Lisa See, wow, I have no idea there was a thing as the Great Leap in China, truly an amazing read you will not forget.

  15. I write down difficult words I found while reading (when my phone runs out of battery – I have a dictionary app installed) in a notebook and I always forget/too lazy to look up the dictionary afterwards.

  16. I am finding this onslaught of great giveaways and new book blogs I had totally failed to discover before downright dizzying. I am a literary fiction fiend and very grateful for this blog hop! Thank you — Kara

  17. I loved The Secret Life of Bee’s by Sue Monk Kidd. I can only imagine that The Invention of Wings will be as good! I am adding it to my TBR list right now.
Thanks so much for the giveaway!

  18. I’ve only ever read Secret Life of Bees by her. I would love to read another though, and this book sounds pretty great! Sue Monk Kidd definitely writes some powerful stuff! 😀

Would love to have you comment!
