Getting Literary at the 2013 Boston Book Festival #bbf2013

A beautiful day for the Boston Book Festival, Oct. 19

Copley Square was already crowded by 11:30 a.m.

First stop, of course, the Massachusetts Libraries and Massachusetts Center for the Book booth!

Heading towards Trinity Church for my first panel discussion

Both panel discussions I attended were held in the sanctuary of Trinity Church.

Novelist Kim McLarin moderated a discussion of tragedy in fiction with Paul Harding, author of Tinkers and Enon, and Ayana Mathis, author of The Twelve Tribes of Hattie.

Back outside, the Brattle booth was always crowded with people browsing for used books.

New Hampshire publisher Hobblebush was featuring a book that imagines Ben Franklin coming back in the 21st century.

Looks like a fun day! Guess we’ll be rooting for opposite teams in the World Series. I’m really looking forward to the match-up.

I don’t usually watch sports, myself, but having the Red Sox in the World Series is definitely exciting!

I’m forever jealous of other towns who have their own festivals–Dallas doesn’t have one…at least not a big one if they do! There is a Texas bookfest but the 4+ hours to Austin and back are no appealing. Love the pictures and a blogger meet up in the future sounds like a blast!
