Lily the Tiller by Deborah McKinlay
I was offered a review copy of Lily the Tiller by Deborah McKinlay (Impress, 2022) because I read and reviewed the author’s previous novel, That Part Was True. Lily the Tiller is about gardening, rather than cooking, but we finally did our spring gardening and hanging flower baskets yesterday, so it felt appropriate to be reading about a gardener, although I don’t have Lily’s green thumb, encyclopedic knowledge of plants, or eye for design.
Book Lovers by Emily Henry
Book Lovers by Emily Henry was an impulse pre-order when I was ordering vacation reading. I read Beach Read, but haven’t read People We Meet on Vacation. Not far enough into it to comment yet, but I’m hoping it will be a funny romance.

These Impossible Things by Salma El-Wardany
A Read With Jenna Today Show Book Club Pick !
A Marie Claire Book Club Pick for June 2022!
A Most Anticipated Book by: Bustle, theSkimm, Fortune, Apartment Therapy, and BookRiotA razor‑sharp debut novel of three best friends navigating love, sex, faith, and the one night that changes it all.
It’s always been Malak, Kees, and Jenna against the world. Since childhood, under the watchful eyes of their parents, aunties and uncles, they’ve learned to live their own lives alongside the expectations of being good Muslim women. Staying over at a boyfriend’s place is disguised as a best friend’s sleepover, and tiredness can be blamed on studying instead of partying. They know they’re existing in a perfect moment. With growing older and the stakes of love and life growing higher, the delicate balancing act between rebellion and religion is becoming increasingly difficult to navigate.
These Impossible Things by Salma El-Wardany is a page-turner of a debut novel. I’m a sucker for books about friends, and that’s what drew me to request this one from NetGalley. Recommended!
