I remembered my blog password, so it can’t have been that long since my last post, right?

The Baker’s Secret by Stephen P. Kiernan
The Baker’s Secret (William Morrow, 2017) by Stephen P. Kieran is my book club selection for July. We’ve read two WWII novels in a row, with last month’s selection being The Last Train to London (Harper, 2019) by Meg Waite Clayton.
Portals by PJ Yovino
Portals by PJ Yovino is a self-published, coming-of-age story set in the years following the assassination of John F. Kennedy by a local author who is in my library’s writers’ group. I’m enjoying reading the novel on its own, with its concurrent storylines of first love, friendship, and international intrigue (and, yes, a WWII connection!) but there’s an extra layer of interest for me, because I’d heard so much about the book’s development before reading it.

I love the Rivers of London series on audiobook, narrated by Kobna Holbrook-Smith but I couldn’t find The Hanging Tree on downloadable audio from any library collection. Turns out the books are just as fun to read in print!

Ha I’m the same with passwords! If I still remember it I must be doing okay… 🙂
Happy Monday!
The Baker’s Secret looks interesting! Happy Reading!
Everyone from the group I’ve seen at the library before the meeting has said they were enjoying it. It’s set a village in Nazi-occupied France so there are a lot of sad events in it, of course, but it has an overall theme of hope.
I thought I had read The Baker’s Secret! but alas, it was The Baker’s Daughter… Happy Reading and Listening!
