Just saw that Sheila of Book Journey will be doing her annual First Book of the Year photo compilation for 2022! My book is supposed to arrive in the mail tomorrow, so I think there will still be time for me to make an announcement and send a photo to Sheila.

Jeeves and the Wedding Bells by Sebastian Faulks
Only a chapter or so to go in Jeeves and the Wedding Bells by Sebastian Faulks, which had been hiding in my home collection.
If you like the Jeeves and Wooster books by P.G. Wodehouse, you will like this delightful homage. I’m going to need to look and see if there are any others by Sebastian Faulks, or any by P. G. Wodehouse that I never listened to on audio, now that I’ve been reminded much I liked these books (usually narrated by Bertram “Bertie” Wooster, but sometimes by his staunchly loyal valet, Jeeves, who can reliably supply an apt quotation, appropriate word, necessary drink, or sensible solution to any crazy scrape Bertie has gotten himself into.)
The Month of Borrowed Dreams (Harper, 2021) by Felicity Hayes-McCoy
I’m reading The Month of Borrowed Dreams by Felicity Hayes-McCoy on my breaks at work and we were given extended holiday weekends off for both Christmas and New Year’s this year, so I’ve been off. Back to work today, though, for a few days. 🙁
Temporarily Not Reading
Good and Mad: The Revolutionary Power of Women’s Anger by Rebecca Traister
This one is on hold for now. Maybe I’ll go back to it in the new year!
Recently Listened To
The Dark Hours by Michael Connelly
My library holds came in right before Christmas week so I’ve been listening to crime fiction instead of my usual Christmas-themed audiobook. The Dark Hours by Michael Connelly is a dual-narration because it’s a Renee Ballard and Harry Bosch novel. Lots of mentions of how old Harry is in this one, but I hope he stays on for more books. (He is fully retired from the police force in this one but still working privately and still involved in murder investigations.)
What Abigail Did That Summer by Ben Aaronovitch
What Abigal Did That Summer is a novella in the Rivers of London urban fantasy/police procedural series by Ben Aaronovitch. In this one, Peter Grant is away and his precocious, young, almost-apprentice cousin Abigal takes top billing.

I am looking forward to First Book of the Year, and luckily already had a book that will be perfect for me.
Enjoy your week and your reading, and here are my WEEKLY UPDATES
I’m not a big reader. Somehow I manage a book a month -sometimes. Right now I’m reading Willian and Kate and enjoying it. Thanks for all the great reviews and Happy New Year.
