Currently Reading
World Without End by Ken Follett
I forgot to bring my Big Book Summer book to read on my lunch hour, so I have no choice but to be a good book blogger and try to dash off the post I was too tired to start this morning before work.
I’ve been reading World Without End at a good clip, at least a few chapters a day, to complete it for the Big Book Summer Reading Challenge, but I know I’m going to miss living with the story and the characters as soon as I come to the end. Even so, the sequel is NOT on my BBS challenge list.
Currently Listening To
Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver
At 560 pages, Demon Copperhead also counts as a Big Book, but it’s not as long as the book it pays homage to, David Copperfield by the master of keeping up the word count — Charles Dickens.
Recently Listened To
The Exhibitionist by Charlotte Mendelson
Longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction 2022, The Exhibitionist is the extraordinary fifth novel from Charlotte Mendelson, a dazzling exploration of art, sacrifice, toxic family politics, queer desire and personal freedom.
This was wonderful! It came out in March, but I was very late listening to my NetGalley review copy. Would be great to read in print, too, but the audio narration by Juliet Stevenson was excellent, as always.

Have a great new week! 🙂
For some reason I haven’t read Demon Copperhead yet. Not sure what I’m waiting for.
I’m curious about Demon Copperhead and all the great buzz it’s gotten.
Your Big Book Summer reading is moving right along!Isn’t Demon Copperhead wonderful on audio?? That narrator just completely embodies Demon. I listened to it in January and it’s still my #1 book of the year. It took me a month to finish it, and I was sorry when it ended, and I had to say good-bye to those characters.
Hope you’re enjoying your books this week!
