It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

The Most Fun We Ever Had by Claire Lombardo has been on my TBR list since it came out last June. Why, you ask? It’s…
“A rich, engrossing family saga, spiked with sisterly malice…[rendered] with such skill and finely tuned interest that it feels like a quiet subversion of the traditional family saga.”
—The New York Times Book Review
Read an excerpt from The Most Fun We Ever Had.
It’s a big book (544 pages), so I may be reading it all month at the rate I’m going! I’ll let you know if all those rave reviews were on the money.

If you haven’t read The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead (Penguin Random House, 2019), put it on your shortlist now! I wrote a bit about it last week. Now, having just come to the end, I know that this book is going to stay with me for a while.
Read an excerpt from The Nickel Boys.
I’m embarrassed to say I haven’t read The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead yet, so I really need to get to it.

Fly Girls by Kevin O’Brien
For book club and Women’s History Month, I’m doing a combo of listening to the audiobook edition of Fly Girls: How Five Daring Women Defied All Odds and Made Aviation History, by Leith O’Brien, narrated by Erin Bennett, and reading the print book. The most famous, Amelia Earhart is the only female aviator of the five whose name most people would recognize, but I’m enjoying learning about the history of early air travel and aircraft development through the experiences of these five intrepid American pilots.
Happy Monday, and please let me know what you’re reading this week in the comments. Thanks for visiting!
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (#IMWAYR) is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. It’s a place to meet up and share what you have been, are, and about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organize yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment, and er… add to that ever-growing TBR pile! This meme started with J Kaye’s Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at Book Date.
These look very tempting! Thanks for sharing.
I’m putting Fly Girls on my nonfiction audiobook tbr list! Thanks!
Nice looking assortment of books. Come see my week here. Happy reading
