In Nashville for five days this week for a big line dance event, but I’ve squeezed in visits to three of the indie bookstores on this list of 10 Must-Visit Bookstores in Nashville.
On our first full day in town, we took an East Nashville foodie tour. Our tour guide was even an aspiring country singer!
Coming out of our third stop, I caught sight of a bookstore at the head of a alley of cute shops and we were able to go back to it after the end of the walking tour.
A children’s bookstore on the Nashville Must-Visit list also happened to be right there in Five Points Alley along with Defunct Books.
A few days after accidentally stumbling across two independent bookstores on our foodie walking tour of East Nashville, I made a deliberate pilgrimage to Parnassus Books, on the other side of Nashville.
Parnassus Books is an independent bookstore owned by Ann Patchett. And partly because writing this post on the iPad with the WordPress app has been a horrorshow, but mainly because Parnassus Books is amazing and deserves a full post of its own, I’ll leave it as my topic for next week’s Sunday Salon.
Sunday Salon is to encourage conversation about books and book-ish things, but can expand into many other topics. The weekly link-up and Facebook group are hosted by the busy bee Deb Nance of Readerbuzz.
I love that you visited 3 bookstores. I’ve never been to Nashville before but have heard it’s fun.
My daughter-in-law worked in Nashville for a while, and she always talks about what a great city it is. I had no idea that it had so many lovely bookstores though. Thanks for sharing these with us.
Book Lust to Go and Eats, Shoots, and Leaves are both favorites of mine.
Love that you visit indie bookstores on your travels, I do the same thing! The store here look great and I can’t wait for your post on Parnassus. I will get there one day!
[…] this time, so I’ll share some pictures from Nashville instead. (Also, please see yesterday’s Sunday Salon post for a peek at some of Nashville’s indie […]
I love a good children’s bookstore! Luckily we have one just up the road from our house!
I have never been to Nashville, but, of course, I have heard it’s a fabulous place to visit. I am not a big foodie, but hubby is. I do love your pics and it makes me want to visit.
