Sunday Salon on the Go

Flew in and out of the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport for a big line dance event this weekend, so I’m starting this as we wait near our gate for our flight home. This is a huge airport, compared to Logan Airport in Boston.

Like many who are reading this post, I pack more books than I will ever get through for any trip, but I still like to stop and check out the racks of books for sale at the airports as we pass by the stores. (Remember when airports all had at least one dedicated bookstore?)

Books for entertainment and pleasure reading definitely predominate.

Some travelers must use their travel time for self-improvement, instead of spending it fuming over flight delays and worrying about germs, like I do. (Not to mention eating and drinking in overpriced airport restaurants.)

Or for spiritual thoughts

Since starting this post, our 4:00 pm flight to Boston was delayed to 4:25, then 4:45, then 5:00. Then, just before 4:30, with the plane at the gate, but no sign of boarding in sight, our flight was delayed to 7:30 pm.

This post is linked up to the Sunday Salon. Visit the link-up there and maybe find happy posts from happy people sitting at home, reading.

Sunday Salon is to encourage conversation about books and bookish things, but can expand into many other topics. The weekly link-up and Facebook group are hosted by the busy bee Deb Nance of Readerbuzz.

This post is also linked up to It’s Monday, What Are You Reading, hosted by The Book Date.
