This week’s Top Ten Tuesday theme is a freebie. I missed doing the “Books/Covers That Look Like Summer”, so I’m kind of doing it now, alphabetical by author, library-style, with a list of novels that are set in New England in summer.
(The New England States are Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island – in the order we memorized them in school as kids. Please don’t ask me to name the Mid-Atlantic, South Atlantic, or any other U.S. region’s states.
I’ve read or listened to all ten of these except Summer on the Bluffs, which I hope I might get to this summer. Have you read or want to read any of these?
Murder on Cape Cod by Maddie Day, narrated by Rachel Dulude
The Summer of Good Intentions by Wendy Francis
Summerland by Elin Hilderbrand
Evie Drake Starts Over by Linda Holmes
Summer on the Bluffs by Sunny Hostin
The Last Summer of the Camperdowns by Elizabeth Kelly
Drunken Fireworks (novella) by Stephen King, read by Tim Sample
The Arrivals by Meg Mitchell Moore
Firefly Summer by Nan Rossiter
That Old Cape Magic by Richard Russo
Until I finished this post, I didn’t realize how heavy my list is on Cape Cod and the Islands for settings. When people think of “summering” in Massachusetts, though, that’s where they’re usually thinking of!
I’m sharing this post with Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, so you’ll find many other Top Ten book lists there – on all different topics, this week!
