Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison

Song of Solomon (Knopf, 1977) by Toni Morrison won the National Critics Book Award for Fiction in 1977, and I’m only now getting around to reading it in 2022. Shame on me! I’ve only read The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison; Beloved is next on my list.

I’ve had an old trade paperback copy in the house for years, marked up by a student. Not sure if I picked it up used somewhere or if it belonged to one of my children. I hope not the latter, because the notes in the margin and the yellow highlighting don’t go much beyond the first 50 pages!
