Snowing again, but no hope of any more snow days; just add extra time for clearing off the car and commuting! No more snow days are likely to be handed out around here, unless we see another major storm, which I hope we don’t!
I’m currently reading political thrillers and espionage for our genre study of Adventure Fiction. We’re meeting tomorrow, and I should be done with both my book and audiobook in time:
The Camel Club is first in a long-running series. A Divided Spy is third in the Thomas Kell series; the audiobook narrator Jot Davies is new to me, but excellent!
Books in the espionage genre usually confuse the heck out of me, but A Divided Spy has characters with enough psychological depth so I am interested in them, even if I don’t understand all the ins and outs of the plot. I can’t say the same for The Camel Club, but the storyline is strong and I can see why readers of political thrillers about terrorist threats like this series so much.
What’s been distracting me from focusing on adventure is the advance copy from NetGalley of Meg Wolitzer’s new novel, The Female Persuasion. Note the very unchick-lit cover!
I was trying to finish it before the pub date, but April 3rd is fast approaching! The New York Times review is out, if you’re curious. Haven’t read the review myself, yet, so not sure about spoilers…

My audiobook holds from the library have all been coming in together, making me miss out on some I’ve been waiting a long time for, but since I’m on a Tana French binge, I think The Trespasser (which will catch me up in the Dublin Murder Squad series) is going to win out over Elin Hilderbrand’s The Identicals for this week’s listening.
What are you reading this week?
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (#IMWAYR) is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. It’s a place to meet up and share what you have been, are, and about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organize yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment, and er… add to that ever-growing TBR pile! This meme started with J Kaye’s Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at Book Date.
