My first book of 2021 is going to be Dominicana by Angie Cruz, which I received for Christmas this year from one of my daughters, who read it and thought I would like it.
Fifteen-year-old Ana Cancion never dreamed of moving to America, the way the girls she grew up with in the Dominican countryside did. But when Juan Ruiz proposes and promises to take her to New York City, she has to say yes. It doesn’t matter that he is twice her age, that there is no love between them. I completely missed 2019, as 2018 was apparently an especially spotty blogging year for me, but I have joined in the fun in other years, going back to 2015.
I won’t make any specific reading resolutions this year, because I don’t usually keep them, but I do hope to keep up with book blogging a little more this year, and maybe get back to reviewing books again.
