To get through any or all of my ambitious Fall 2026 TBR, I will have to listen to less political commentary. But I really did enjoy watching and listening to this clip that was widely shared of a “Presidential” press conference without actual press!

2. Queenie Is Working on It by Candice Carty-Williams 9/8/26
I have put a hold on this audiobook from the library! I loved Queenie and People Person by Candice Carty-Williams.
3. Our Noble Selves by Kate Atkinson
This is only out in hardcover, as it was just published a week ago. (Hmmm. Buy for myself as birthday present?) I have many favorite authors, but Kate Atkinson is definitely among them!
4. The Missed Connection by Tia Williams
The Missed Connection is up next for audiobook listening, as humorous romance might be just what I need as a stress reliever!
5. We Chase Shadows by Richard Osman
New this month, too! This may be an even longer wait for the audiobook from the library, but I’m already on the holds list, I believe.
6. Dead But Dreaming of Electric Sheep by Paul Tremblay
Need some Reading in Peril (RIP) books for October! This will be a long wait from the library, too. I should have put my hold in sooner!
7. Goblin Market by A.J. Hackwith
This might do for RIP reading? I’ve been waiting for a new book from A. J. Hackwith, although this cover design isn’t appealing to me!
8. Miss Wolcott’s Ghost by Louise Penny
Louise Penny’s Armand Gamache books on audio are a must for me.
9. The Hollow by Michael Connelly – 10/27/26 (audio)
Ditto for Michael Connelly’s books!
10. The Return by Rachel Harrison
I was on hold for the audio of Play Nice by Rachel Harrison, but accidentally let the hold lapse before I needed it for the RIP reading challenge this fall!
11. Exit Party by Emily St. John Mandel
Exit Party is also just out this month. Might not come in for me before the fall is over, so it didn’t make the top ten list. I’ve put a hold on both the ebook and audiobook from the library, so we’ll see what happens. Set in 2031, this isn’t going to be a relaxing read!
